A bubble mailer can be convenient for suitable lightweight goods. A box provides a rigid outer structure that a flexible mailer cannot. The right choice depends on what the product can tolerate during handling, not just which package is quickest to close.
Consider a bubble-lined mailer for lightweight soft goods such as apparel and textiles when the packed contents fit comfortably. Check that there are no sharp edges likely to pierce the material and that the item does not need rigid support.
The air bubble lining adds cushioning, but the package can still bend and be compressed. Do not assume that a bubble lining makes a flexible bag suitable for delicate glassware or any other crush-sensitive product.
Choose a suitable carton when the contents need rigidity, separation or room for cushioning on all sides. Multiple items that could collide also benefit from a packing method designed to keep them apart.
A retail presentation box is not automatically a shipping carton. Assess the complete pack and follow the product and carrier requirements. For breakables, use our fragile-item packing checklist.
Flat dimensions alone do not tell you whether a thick bundle will fit. As the contents become bulkier, the material has to travel around the sides. Leave enough room for a complete, clean closure.
Poly Bubble Mailers are sold in packs of 10, with nominal listed sizes of 430 × 540 mm, 500 × 650 mm and 750 × 900 mm. The product page lists the corresponding specifications.
These are not guaranteed usable internal dimensions. If your product fit is tight or you are planning a high-volume order, confirm the internal space with Sorted before purchasing.
Pack the same suitable item in each practical format and compare total weight, outside dimensions, packing time and material consumption. Ask for the applicable delivery price using the completed parcel details.
A lighter package does not automatically produce the lowest shipping charge. Carrier pricing and service eligibility depend on the shipment, so avoid making cost assumptions from the empty packaging alone.
Record an approved mailer or box for each common order type. Include a photo, quantity limit and the point at which the order needs a different format. This gives your team a clear rule when an extra item is added.
